Regulators for Uilleann Pipes 4.2

Regulators is a collection comprising three drones and three regulators (Tenor, Baritone, and Bass) typically found on a complete set of Uilleann pipes, commonly in the keys of D, C#, C, B, or Bb.

You have the flexibility to adjust the tuning of the drones and regulators within a range of +/- 50 cents in one-cent increments using the "Cents" slider available in the settings. Resetting tuning to zero is a quick touch away using the displayed offset value.

This application supports multitouch functionality and enables independent play of all three regulators simultaneously. Furthermore, it allows you to seamlessly transition from one regulator key to adjacent keys on the same or different regulators.

By engaging the regulator mode switch positioned below the drone puck, users can effortlessly switch between auto-chord and single regulator play modes. In auto-chord mode, engaging the regulators on the left produces the tenor+baritone chord, while on the right triggers the baritone+bass chord.

The auto-chord feature of Regulators lends itself well to live performances when used alongside a chanter, strapped to the leg, and played with hand positioning.

Within the settings page, you have the option to configure various parameters such as drones style (Lynch or Crowley), root key (D, C#, C, B, Bb), overall tuning offset, individual volume controls for each of the three regulators and drones, and the overall reverb level. All settings adjustments are retained upon exiting the app.

Regulators boasts 16-bit 44 KHz audio samples that loop seamlessly and are derived from authentic instrument recordings rather than synthesized tones, resulting in an exceptionally realistic sound. The samples are meticulously tuned using just intonation relative to the drones for accuracy.

This application enriches live or recorded musical performances by incorporating the distinctive sounds of Uilleann pipe drones and regulators into compositions.
